Karleigh was born February 16, 1986 in Memphis, Tennessee to singer/songwriter Sunny Simmons Steincamp. Her family has been full of musicians for generations back, in about every direction the family tree branches out. Karleigh and her four siblings were raised in a home where music was loved, embraced, and constantly present. The family, together, wrote and performed songs (and entire "productions") for friends, family members, and others from the time Karleigh was old enough to babble a tune.

As she got older, Karleigh decided to take up the viola, joined her school chorus and drama program, and got involved in community theater, winning an accumulation of awards and recognition for her talent, style, and creativity.

Karleigh began writing songs early on, most of them a cappella; as she matured, however, she decided to branch out, taking up her mother's primary instrument, the guitar. After a few introductory pointers from Mom, Karleigh taught herself to play so that she could expand her writing repertoire and accompany herself on the growing number of songs that she had to offer the world. As the encouragement and support of her friends, family, and followers continued, she began to realize that music was going to be far more than a hobby; it was a life path for her.

Today, Karleigh's family pursues several genres of musical style, but they come together with great regularity for collaboration and performances. Karleigh’s own music is full of deep, passionate, evocative, but edgy melodies that make a storybook of her life and surroundings.

When Karleigh isn't writing or performing, she is busy with her family, including her husband and one-year-old son. She partners with a friend and sister-in-law to design, make, and sell hand-crafted jewelry, clothing, gifts, and other specialty items at festivals, fairs, and other events, doing business as Wired & Stoned.
